Insomaniac

Lost in a sleepless frenzy. When insomnia turns to mania. The door opens, inviting you to sleep. The invitation reads “black tie,” as dark as the night. You try to enter, but the door is locked. The night is still and no sound can be heard. So you wander. Your steps dissolve into a glide. Your hands are empty, yet a frenzy of thoughts mixes into a cocktail made of faces you once knew, words you should have spoken, and fantasies that are fluid and half-formed. The longer you stay awake, the more thoughts arise, blending and spilling into one another, opening up alternate realities. No longer sure if you are asleep or awake.
